Manticoran and Andermani Treachery in Silesia

News has just been received from the People's Navy in the Silesian Confederacy of a clash between a Navy squadron and a Manticoran convoy. Navy sources have confirmed the destruction of a Manticoran destroyer and Q-ship in the engagement. The Navy has also confirmed that the Q-ship was not part of the convoy but came to its assistance shortly after it was intercepted.

Naval sources have expressed fury that the heavily armed ship transmitted Andermani identification signals throughout the engagement, and was thus able to cause severe damage and casualties to a Navy vessel. Whilst it is accepted that sometimes a ship may use false codes to escape detection, all civilised nations require that the vessel's true identity be declared before engaging in hostilities.

This is at least the second time that a Manticoran vessel has behaved in such a despicable way. The same ship attacked a PN light cruiser which sought to defend it from pirates, thinking it to be an Andermani merchantman. To add insult to injury the Andermani, whose neutrality has been breached so shamelessly, have actually sided with the Manticorans, going so far as to hold prisoners of war on their behalf.

Although the Andermani, with their imperial pretentions, are natural enemies of the People, it had been thought that they would remain neutral in the current conflict. Their despicable actions in siding with the perfidious Manticorans in this way must give cause to doubt their continued neutrality.
