Citizen Admiral Thomas Theisman, capitalising on the confusion caused to Manticoran operations by the successful raids of Citizen Admiral Giscard's forces, has carried out major successful attacks which drove Allied forces out of the Seabring and Barnes systems. Although it was necessary for the Citizen Admiral's forces to return to Barnett to avoid the possibility of a Manticoran counterattack on such an important fleet base, and therefore it was not possible to permanently hold the systems, the Committee of Public Safety has expressed its approval of the action.
A whole string of successful offensive operations by the People's Navy in recent months has pushed the Manticoran aggressors onto the defensive, and there can be little doubt that they are reeling under these setbacks. It is the nature of such oppressive and selfish societies to pull apart in adversity, rather than pulling together as an egalitarian society such as the People's Republic does. It is unlikely that Manticore can long sustain a losing streak.
